Band camp ended yesterday. But didn't really enjoy because it was a freaking day camp. So I had to travel around everyday. Why can't the freaking teachers just make it a night camp. AHHH. Damn them. Other than band prac and band prac and more band prac, there's nothing much to say anyway. Sighhh. This is the most tiring and most boring band camp everrrr.
& My parents are soooo worried about the weather in Japan. They're like getting lots of new stuff just because of the trip. Hahaha. They're sooo sweet. :D & My mum's intending to change like more than 2 times of the required amount of money because she's worried I don't have enough to spare. Heh. & I'm kind of regretting going on the trip because I spent so much money and technically, I'm only going there for like 5 days, not 7. & The teachers are really strict and stuff. We can't even change seats on the plane. =.= & I seriously hope that there's more shopping time. I really want to bring lots of things back from Japan. AHHHH.

OMG. Just reached home from band prac. Today is like one of the most tiring and scariest band pracs ever. Not only was it from 9am - 9.30pm, we got like scolded damn a lot of times. But at least it ended on a quite happy note. Dublin Dances became nicer! :D & We played Overture 1 kind of well. :D & It makes me want to go back to the SYF period, the time when we played under the starssss. Malay Folk Song March was kind of not bad too. :D Just a few more pieces to go. Please let us play well and not get the conductors pissed off at us. PLEASE.
Oh man I'm really really tired now. But I'm gonna massage my tense lips and then look through my scores again. :D

I read something that made me really upset. Why must it always turn out like that? But I seriously love my friends because they tried so hard to make me happy! I love them damn a lot!
Anyway today's the first week since POP!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BESTIE!!! HAHAHAHAHA. YOU'RE FINALLY 15. BUT I DON'T SEE HOW MUCH MATURE YOU GOT FROM DINNER JUST NOW. HAHAHAHA.
Anyway went Malaysia during the weekends to celebrate my grandma's birthday. & It's so fun and high! Anyway it's been really long since we last had a reunion dinner like that. But only the females (teens) were well dressed up. Like my cousins and I wore until really formal, while the guys were like in t-shirt and shorts. The contrast between the females and the guys are like really obvious.
& My cousins and I became so high. & We drank beer! Like half a cup. & I got to experience the effects of beer. At first, it makes you really really high and like you'll laugh a lot. But then you'll start to get drowsy and feel like sleeping. It kind of freaked me out like how alcohol affects you so much. So now at least I know that I can't drink alcohol with friends and stuff. But with family, I guess it's okay. :D
Band was okay. But I got kind of annoyed during Merry Widows because it's surprising how horrible it sounds although we were given like weeks to practise for it. Disney Magic Kingdom sounds nice, but I guess the musical direction isn't that there yet. OMG I want to play DUBLIN DANCES!
Then went to Plaza Singapura's Cafe Cartel with Fann and Amelia to celebrate Fann's birthday! & I ordered the ribs and omg it's really good. & I was the most glam eater out of them (ALTHOUGH I DIDNT GO FOR DINING ETIQUETTE CLASS) and my bones were neatly placed. :D & Fann is a messy eater. & We ate damn a lot of bread. We took like 4 servings or something. Hahaha. Anyway I like Cafe Cartel. The food's nice and priced reasonably. :D

OMG 35th BAND NCO CAMP IS LIKE THE COOLEST EVER! :D ESPECIALLY WITH PLATOON 2 AND PRIVATE NG! :D Before the start of the camp, I was super worried and dreading it like crap, because I totally wasn't looking forward to the drills and I was afraid I wouldn't make any friends. Heh. The first day wasn't that great, but as the days passed, our team became more bonded and we started joking around with each other. :D
But seriously, today's like the best day ever! It didn't rain when we did our rehearsals ! :D So we successfully went through 2 rounds of rehearsals. :D & I didn't have to attend chinese lessons! Haha. Because of the 2nd rehearsal, which was dragged, I managed to skip the whole chinese lesson but just went back to hand in my chinese paper and collect some notes. Lalala. By the time I went back to CCAB, around 12nn, they finished all the DBT stuff and it was time for relaxation all the way till 5.15pm!
Went back to auditorium and cam-whored a bit, went to change, then cam-whored even more since everyone was wearing their full band uniform. & Everyone was like trying to take pictures with the two coolest people in my group: Parade Commandant, Azkhairy and Drum Major of display 2, Khairi. :D Hahaha. They are really damn cool. Their drills are the best I have ever seen! :D & Of course, cam-whoring sessions with the sirs. After cam-whoring, there were talks and uniform checks by the sirs. Then start of preparation for march-past!
Omg we were really making a lot of noise while waiting for the parade to start. Some of the people got kind of pissed and it's funny to see how Adrian's so serious when he's usually the joker in my team. Heh. Then march-past and then display!! OMG the part I looked forward to the most! :D & I think my display went quite well. :D Like obviously right? Since team 2 is like the best. Team 1 too of course. Heh. But the ground was super muddy and I didn't really dare to step too hard on the wet ground. Regardless of how gently I try to step, after the whole thing, my court shoes were really gross. I think I'm throwing them away, anyway they're kind of spoilt already. Heh.
Anyway, 5 days of NCO camp. OVER. Sighh.. Time flies really quickly. It's surprising how I dreaded it so much at the start of the camp, but now, I really miss it a lot. It's like OBS. AHHHHH. I'm gonna miss all the fun I had with my fellow teammates and all those drills, mace work and display band technique under the damn hot sun (oh wait. I didn't mention this. I have gloves tan, sock tan AND shorts tan. How cool man). & The retarded games we played together, and Adrian's classic 'TEHHHHHHH' in front of random people. & Saying "We love you, Private Ng/我爱你, Private Ng" as a whole team. Haha. OMG we won't get to say it anymore. ))): But, everything comes to an end somehow. At least all of us have each other's contacts, so we can keep in touch somehow.

OMG 4th day of NCO Camp is over and tomorrow the final day!! OMG PLEASE DO NOT LET IT RAIN SO THE DMS CAN ALL PERFORM THEIR DISPLAYS TOMORROW. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. ALL THE DMS HAVE WORKED REALLY HARD FOR POP TOMORROW. SO PLEASE DO NOT LET IT RAIN. I WON'T MIND GETTING ALL TANNED TOMORROW!!Ohhh today was kinda fun. My team became all high and more bonded and we even ate lunch together as a whole group, and not like in cliques or smth. ((: & After lunch was retarded! Adrian was being a joker again and just stood there like an innocent guy and then when someone's walking past, he just went "TEHHHHH". As in in a totally retarded and funny way. & He went to do that at one of the DMs in Team 1 and he was super freaked out. & Our team just burst out in laughter. :D He just kept doing that to random people and some guy dared him to do it to one of the sirs but I guess he's quite scared. Heh. Like hello. SIRS MAN. They're screw you.
Then went to do POP Wet Weather Rehearsal and OMG it was soooo tiring. The NCC sirs just kept making us do the same few things repeatedly for like an hour because they wanted to choose the parade commandant. & YAYAY!! The parade commandant's from my team!!! :D & The drum majors of all drum majors for my display is from my team too! :D Oh man Team 2 is just super cool. :D
Then POP rehearsal but it rained halfway!! ))): Then just talked and stuff with Sir Nicholas and lalalala done, day's over! Then went to Serene for food and back to school for percussion fest. Ohh the performance was really damn good. :D It's been a long time since I listened to such a nice percussion ensemble. :D

OMG I just found out something really cool today. & It's a wonder how the world so big can be so small sometimes. Hahaha.
& I'm missing DBT for Chinese tomorrow!!! SO NOT WORTH IT!!!
OMG I just found out something really cool today. & It's a wonder how the world so big can be so small sometimes. Hahaha.
Today's another tiring day. Drills was HORRIBLE & TERRIBLE. The NCC guy (who's the same age as us!!) started screaming like crap and kept scolding us!! )): He screamed so much until his Sir came and went 'They don't know the full command. So chilll' Haha it was sooo funny. Like your superior going up to you and asks you to chill. ((: & We were doing drills under the hot morning sun for like 2 hours = super tiring. I was sweating like crap and they made us hentakaki for like 10 minutes, or at least what seemed like 10 minutes. Anyway it was the longest hentakaki I have done since I joined band. Then a lecture on display band technique but I left halfway for Chinese mock test, so yeah. & I was soooo tired while doing the damn test. I finished both essays within like 1h 15min just because I wanted to sleep!!!! I kept dozing off while doing the damn thing. So... I figured might as well finish it and sleep right? Hahaha. So I guess the essays are like super low standard because I was really eager to finish it. Heh. Then rushed back to CCAB while having 2 buns for lunch (& I didn't have breakfast and I ate really little for tea. So I survived with 2 buns for the rest of the afternoon. But Emily's more poor thing. She didn't have her lunch). & Then mace work and fortunately, I didn't miss a lot because they were just revising yesterday's stuff.
Display band technique was rather cool. Like the formations and stuff. Then tomorrow's the gimmicks and then putting the gimmicks and formations together, which is going to be hard. Lalala.
NCO camp's rather good actually. Like I made more friends today and everything's been rather well, just that it's really tiring. My muscles are like all stretched already. But it's okay. I will complete my course. ((:
& For those who want to go for NCO Camp POP on Friday, 6 November 09!! :D
It's at CCAB, and be seated by 6.15pm! :D

OMG NCO Camp's super tiring. I did like 2 hours of drills and 3 hours of mace work. AHHHH. Luckily it rained in the afternoon, so we were in the Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH) for 3 hours instead of under the sun. ((: Just hope that it doesn't rain on Friday evening, if not a week's practice will be gone to waste. It was so damn awkward when I reached there because they finished their ice-breakers game and when I found my team, the only thing they did was to introduce themselves. But fortunately, I made friends really quickly and I'm happy that I won't be lonely for the next 4 days. ((:
Drills was conducted by some NCC people and they made us to do so NCC-ish stuff. We had to sit like NCC people, like back and arms straight and stuff. & Their commands were really different from the band ones. But it's not as tiring as I thought and kind of slack. Then lecture was boringgg, partly because we just finished drills under the damn hot sun and everyone was really tired. Then lunch and another lecture. & OMG My friends and I were late for the lecture made by the SAF people and it was really embarrassing. Then did mace work. & After today, I realised that the mace has a HORRIBLE centre of gravity. It's super difficult to hold it from the bottom and try to do some stuff because the top part's really heavy so it's really difficult to swing it because it just keeps swaying about. But I think the mace work's quite cool because you get to spin and throw it around. :D But still, it's still really really really tiring and you confuse the actions a lot.
Okay I got to go download and listen to my display band song. :D

OMG I am so freaking annoyed. My favourite gift from a friend is broken by some juveniles currently at my home now. & The worst thing? They don't even bother to apologise. That's why I HATE people playing in my room. URGH. They should be glad I'm not even screaming at them.

OMG HAHAHA SC WON THE ASIAN FINALS FOR BUSINESS@SCHOOL ONCE AGAIN!! :D Are we good or what? HAHAHA. OMG Team Allegro was really impressive. Their presentation was awesome, and they tackled Q&A as though it was some easy peasy thing for them!! OMG HAHA this is the result of 3/4 months of loads of hard work for Phase 3. They could answer ALL the questions although they didn't have their slides with them. But they still managed to own Q&A! :D That's what I call brilliant. :DThe other schools did well too. RI's slides were really nice. It was really simple but still professional. It kinda looked like the slides of the Steven Jobs' MacWorld presentation, just that it's a lot more simpler and less animated. But their slides were really awesome
& I had to rush after band to get to RI. & Mr Tan kept going through Figure 4, 5, 6 of Merry Widows after 1pm and I was sooooo anxious because I was so scared I couldn't make it on time for the competition. But luckily I still did! :D
But anyway, after the whole competition, I realised that today is the last day that Team JE will ever meet as a group again. Last week, Jacq was like saying that everything's over, but then we kept telling her that it's okay, because we'll meet as a team again at the Asian Finals. But now that the Asian Finals is over, I may have to assume that today's the last time we meet as a team. It's really saddening. 10 months of continuous hard work, 10 months of extreme effort, and 10 months of unforgettable memories and experience, all over. AHHHHHH. Sighhh. I think I should chill because everything will come to an end somehow, regardless of how long it is.

OMG My favourite Singaporean band composer came into the band room today!! OMG His 'In the Winter Early Hours, At the Break of Gondwana' is like one of the best band music I have heard and played. OMG I love that piece! (But we're not playing it. Damn) Monday, October 26, 2009 at 8:55 PM

It's been a long time I blogged. & OMG. BUSINESS@SCHOOL ENDED FOR ME TODAY!! Sighhh. I'll miss those times. I think I'll be feeling really weird when I don't have to stay back on Mondays and Fridays. It's like how I felt when YPSB ended and we didn't need to reach school at 7.45am just to go to AMK Sec.
Although we didn't win today's competition, I think it's the best that we have done for the past 3 phases. The Q&A was awesome (the judges only asked 3 questions!!! Shows that they understand our business idea fully) and the presentation was FANTASTIC. Heh. It's just that the judges liked Team Allegro's idea more so yeah.
Everyone always says that every competition that you experience is NOT about winning or losing, but the experience that you get. I used to go like 'Pfft. Yeah right. Everything's about the end result.' That's reality. But after Business@School, I realised that I was totally wrong. It's surprising to find out that what you have always believed in is different from what you had experienced. Like since I joined Business@School, my aim was to become the representative group for SC and be the Asian champions. But I didn't feel that when Phase 3 was around the corner. But rather, I was kind of happy that I have gone this far, with Phase 1 and 2 behind me, and it didn't really matter whether my team would win. Like this time, I didn't cry although I didn't win. I was really happy, because I know that we did our best.
Business@School is like a totally tedious and time-consuming project work, and I'm really glad that I was able to go through this really tiring project with awesome friends. ((: Carolyn, Deborah, Jacq, Janie and Wen Qian are the most fabulous team mates and friends you can work with. & The best thing? You can go through the whole process without destroying any relationships within the group. There's absolutely no bitching about any of us within the group. That's the beauty of Team JE. We work and understand each other really well. :D
I'm feeling kind of empty now. & I now understand why Jacq was so upset after our presentation. We would not be able to do this together anymore. Imagine us meeting up as a group again and not talk about marketing strategies, implementation, FINANCIALS, etc. Haha. & OMG I can't be comforted by them when I cry anymore! ))): I swear I'm gonna miss Team JE. OMG I totally liked those times when we were all so united and had the nice group hugs and retarded group outings! :D ARGHHHH I'M GONNA MISS TEAM JE.
