OMG I was almost late for band today. Like I was supposed to reach school at like 8.30am but I woke up at like 8.10am and I was like OMG OMG I'm gonna be late!!! So I was like rushing like mad and then I reached school at like 8.40am! BLAHHHH.

Had sectionals on Carioca and I like it!! Though my parts are really easy. It's like almost the same rhythm throughout the whole piece. But when the band plays together, it's really nice. :D Then full band on the piece and sightread some march piece. Don't really remember the name of the piece but it's a nice march!! I have awesome parts! Not like crochets all the way or something. :D

Went with the rest of the exco to look for Mrs Yeo so she could kind of remedial us. & Mrs Yeo is a good teacher! She made me understand physics! Omg Mr Cheong goes so fast and like before I can absorb all the information bombarded to us or ask him questions, he just jumps to the next topic. But Mrs Yeo explains the theory slowly and makes sure we understand it before going to another part of electrostatics. I need to redo the notes though. I scribbled so much over the paper and it looks really crappy now. & I know almost all the answers for the physics prac I missed because of IMCB. The prac looks really confusing.

& I just came home from my maternal grandma's birthday dinner. It was quite boring for me because like I totally have nothing in common with my guy cousins and the only female cousin I have is like 5 years old? So I was like msging people and listening to music. Omg I was really really bored. The dinner was good though. :D & My little cousins are so cute!! I kept pinching the face of the youngest cousin. Teehee. He's so cute. :D

Sighhhh really tired now. Haven't really had a good rest since like.... a month ago. Oh man. Can't wait for O's to be over. & Be a student of hwachong. :DDDD & I really like my fringe!!!!

OHHHHHH IMCB IS OVER!!! Basically the 3 days were boring when it comes to theory and hands-on but it's fun talking and playing with LeeWei, Cheryl, Leslie and Colleen. Teehee.

& Bacteria stinks to the max!! Especially when you take it out from the incubator. Like we put our experiments in the incubator so the bacteria can grow and when you take it out from the incubator the next day, the smell just gushes out from the incubator and into your nostrils. OMG. I was the first one to open the incubator this morning and the rest behind me were like 'OMG it stinks'.

Then it was killing the worms time! The worms from Wednesday grew and multiplied and like you can see clusters of worms on the agar plate. It's really disgusting. & We have to flood the agar plate with some (M9??) buffer so the worms can be sucked up using the micropipette. So after pouring in the buffer, the worms were sucked up and into a 1.5ml tube and you can see the disgusting worms wriggling at the bottom of the tube = FREAKING GROSS! Then the worms at the bottom of the tube were sucked up and placed on two agar plates: 1 with wild-type AH and the other with mutant AH. So basically the worms on wild-type AH are supposed to die while those on mutant AH will continue to live. Don't really understand the concept behind it but yeah. :D Incubate those for 5 hours and you get to see the results.

Then there was some presentation from an A*Star scholar but it didn't really tell me much about A*Star scholarships. At least it didn't try to put me to sleep like the previous talk and I was relatively awake throughout the talk. Then went to take photos at the Skywalk or something and camwhored there with LeeWei's and Leslie's cameras. Went for lunch after that and we were so nice to not go Holland V. and accompany Colleen while she ate at O'Briens. ((: The rest of us ate at the food court after that and talked. Lalala.

After lunch was preparation for the presentation. & All the presentations were quite funny. Like everyone was so not prepared and just came up with some information and slides and videos and showed it. & Bench 1 was hilarious! They wanted to do the slides like during the presentation itself but the tutors were like 'Oh no. Just read it off" or at least something like that. Hahaha. Went back to look at the worms under the microscope and it was gross again!!! I was like drowning the biohazard rubbish bag with ethanol because we threw the micropipette tips that we used to suck up the worms into the bag. & Whenever I touched the plate, I washed my gloves with ethanol. It's gross if you have tiny, transparent bodies worms crawling around.

Then cleaned up and my partner and I used up a lot of ethanol. Haha. Camwhored a little and got certs and went home!

Anyway IMCB is gonna look good on my portfolio but seriously, I don't think I learnt much? Okay maybe because like most of the times I can't be bothered to listen to the tutor and was just stoning whenever she explained to us. & I just followed the instructions for the experiments and not asking the rationale behind each step. So yeahhhh. But talking and fooling around with the other 4 people was fun!! Hahaha. Like how I try to step on Cheryl's shoes most of the time and succeeded and when she tried to step on mine, Leslie gave her away. Teehee. :D 'Ohhh you're doing the thing she did to you yesterday'. & How Cheryl and I kept like bickering with each other about random stuff. & How Leslie just enters some turning thingy and into a dark room without permission?! That was like just freaky. Like if you get found out, you're gonna be so screwed. But apparently he couldn't see anything in the room so yeah...

& I really like the buildings in Biopolis! & There's this really cool playground there too. Like it's all science-y and interactive. But they should really have Starbucks. I was craving for Starbucks because I woke up so early, reached there at like 7.30am and had to wait until 9++ before the course starts. Sighhh. I miss Starbucks.

Came back from the hair salon after getting it washed and fringe cut. I like my hair now. :D
Ohhh at IMCB now. Brought my laptop because I had nothing better to do. Teehee. Going for presentation soon and so NOT looking forward to it damn it. I want to go back to school now!!!!

Ohhh back from IMCB. The theory part was freaking boring. I was like stoning during the whole explanation and totally so not listening. & When my partner asked me what the person was talking about, I was like 'Huh? Oh I don't know either. I wasn't listening." Teehee.

& The hands-on were just okay because like I did so much pipette stuff in school and those are like totally basic things. So it gets kind of boring. & I did like bacteria growing things in primary and secondary school. Maybe like some twists in the hands-on here and there but basically it's about the same? So yeahhhh found it quite boring.

But I love the buildings at Biopolis! :D We're gonna be at Proteos for the rest of the days there but it's really cool because like we roam around Biopolis during lunch. :D & Because ALL their doors are like electromagnetic, so everyone gets this card to tap at the sensor everytime we want to go through the doors. Hahaha. Makes me feel so important and like you seem like one of the staff there since you have the cards. Teeheee.

Lunch was just okay. Went for lunch with LeeWei, two other Yishun JC people, Leslie and Colleen, and another NYJC girl (shoot I didn't ask for her name). The food court at Biopolis has a WIDE variety. So much so that we're gonna go out of Biopolis for lunch tomorrow. (:

& Oh yeah. I have an agar plate full of WORMS on my bench right now and I bet they're digesting the bacteria on the plate quite happily. :D & I can see them wriggle under the microscope. How cool is that?

School was like boring? Had two lectures in a row today: full geog and e.lit. But since I was sooo darn sleepy I wasn't really listening? Especially for geog. Geog lectures put me to sleep really easily. OMG. OHH & I have fallen in love with my lit text! It's like so organised and messy now. :D All my post-its are sticking out of the book to mark out the significant events and other folded post-its to mark out the evidence for the different themes. I won't mind reading the text again and identify more stuff. :D & The last period was CE! Mrs Chia bought these really cute paper for us to write things about ourselves. & It's funny how you have to discuss with your friends because you don't know your hobbies, habits, fav food, music, etc. & I found out I'm a pessimistic person! But I think it isn't accurate because I'm optimistic about going HWACHONG. :DDDD

Then stayed back in school in the band room to revise for A.Math test because we were going Commonwealth Band's concert after that. & OMG I couldn't do soooo many questions in the tys and tb. I think I'm gonna be screwed for the test tomorrow. HOWWWWW?! Ms Lau's gonna put me in her remedial class and keep picking on me in class. (Okay the first is a good thing but getting picked in class is so not good).

Took bus to Marina Square then got Starbucks. & Their green tea cream tastes like green tea kitkat! & It's quite nice actually. Gonna get that again soon. :D Fann got bagel and mocha? Like the really bitter kind? Met the seniors at Esplanade before entering the concert hall and omg Constance, Eugenie and Pan-E kept trying on my cool, black specs. :D I'm soooo setting a trend. :D

& Commonwealth Band's Limelight was not bad. Enjoyed Phantom of the Opera and Celebrate the most though. & They played Japanese Graffiti V! But I want to play Japanese Graffiti XIV! That version is awesome. :D & The perc ensemble was quite cool. :D Mr Ramu always makes things fabulous for percs. & They played Big Fun in the Sun for their encore piece! Having two drum set solos for encore totally brings the concert to an awesome close. :D

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to performing at Esplanade in May too. But just quite upset that it's not gonna be a full band concert. I thought we will be putting up a full band concert, but apparently it's like a band-cum-choir concert. A little disappointing but at least we get to perform at Esplanade right. (: This chance is hard to come by so I still treasure it a lot. Hope we'll put up a brilliant performance on May 23rd. (:

Okay back to proving more trigo identities and solving word problems. :D Hopefully the paper isn't going to be too difficult. ((:

Ohhh it's been quite some time since I last blogged. But anyway...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANICE!!! ENJOY YOUR SWEET SIXTEEN. :DDDD THE EXCO OWES YOU A TREAT AND CAM-WHORING SESSION. :DDDD

Anyway it's been a horribly busy week. So much homework and crap. & There's so much to do over the weekends. But at least I have more Island Creamery icecream to survive on. :D & Chem test today was bad. I think most of my answers were wrong. BLAHHHH. & E.Math quiz was annoying. What don't clear calculator value. That's just freaking plain retarded. There's A.Math test on Tue and then I'll be missing 3 days of school and an E.Math test due to IMCB attachment. :D

Things to do over the weekends:
1. Physics electrostatics WS 1 & 2
2. E.Math assignment 4 & 5
3. Literature essay
4. English journal entry
5. E.Math paper
6. A.Math TB Ex. 14.5 & Miscellaneous 14
7. English exposition essay
8. A.Math revision WS on trigo
9. STUDY FOR A.MATH TEST.

& WTH?! I got 6/10 for Physics prac!!! Mr Cheong deducted 2 marks because I didn't write my scale and title?! SINCE WHEN WERE WE REQUIRED TO INCLUDE THOSE IN THE PRACS?! MR LIM NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT THOSE. BLAHHHH. Need to remember my gradient, coordinates, units, scale, title, s.f. and d.p. for pracs now. Hmph.

& WTF?! I GOT THE LOUSIEST TEACHER AGAIN FOR HCL. OMGGGGG. SHE ALREADY WASTED MY TIME LAST YEAR TEACHING ME NOTHING AND NOW SHE'S GONNA RUIN MY SEC4 LIFE TOO?! THIS IS FREAKING ANNOYING. OMGGGGG. GO AWAY FR.

Today is the day the exco went mad and cam-whored!!! Teehee. Brought my laptop to school to work on some presentation but I don't think the doing-presentation session was very productive. (:

Stayed back because Mr Khoo wanted to meet all SLs to confirm the number of available instruments for juniors and then the exco went to Serene Centre to work on the presentation because we wanted to eat. Teehee. Went Island Creamery and I finally ate the Teh Tarik flavoured ice cream! It's not bad but I prefer their Strawberry Sorbet ice cream. We totally crapped around in Island Creamery, typing in nonsense on my laptop. All of us were laughing like crap and giving weird ideas to each other :D

Then went Macs because we wanted to eat fries. :D & This time we became more serious and started working on the presentation. Finished half of the presentation and then we started camwhoring on my laptop! Teehee. We were like switching from effect to effect and taking all sorts of photos. (& When I got home, I realised there were like 3 other pages of effects. Darn.) Teehee. Band exco '10 is awesome! :D Hahaha.

I shall bring my laptop another day and the exco shall camwhore again! :D

Ohhh first blog post of 2010 although it's the 13th day of 2010. Sighhh Sec4 life is torturous. There's like 4 tests next week, excluding the quizzes during the remedials. But yeah, all these will help me a lot in getting my 9A1s and going HWACHONG. :D & I studied quite hard for the past few nights! I did like a lot of A.Math questions to prepare myself for the test next week. :D

Sighhhh life is boring. But I'm sitting near hyper people in class! Like Janie, Renee and Gaya! The other hyper people, like Fann, Deborah and Yingmei are sitting further away from me. Sighh. & Our class notice board makes me feel like I'm in kindergarten or primary school. Teehee. But it's the best noticeboard ever! Because everyone contributed to the drawings on the board. :D

& Today was a sucky day because of assembly. It's funny how the adults say we must not be rude and stuff. But today's a perfect example of how actions speak louder than words and people rarely mean what they say. Twisting people's words and making it sound really harsh and awful is not really acting on what you say right? That's why it's pointless to have assemblies, seriously. Might as well let us have our free time to do work or have lessons because sitting there listening to nonsense is totally a waste of time.

Band finally resumed yesterday and we had like 1 and a half hours to 2 hours of warm-ups. Luckily I didn't lose my embouchure although I didn't touch my instrument since Japan. My pitchings were rather accurate though I think my fingers moved slower than usual when I was practising my chromatic scales. Practised the piece for orientation then went on to listening to music on Mr Khoo's iPod. Had a brief meeting with Mr Tee before going off for Sherlock Holmes!!

Anyway I thought the movie was quite good. Like it's fascinating to see how one person knows so many things by pure observation and then solve the case slowly. Although it's fiction but still very impressive.

& Then there's band again today too. Rehearsed again for orientation and then cleaned the band room really thoroughly. All the cases were brought out to air under the sun and the instruments were taken out to polish/clean/re-oil. & While the rest of the band was handling the maintenance of instruments stuff, the exco plus Mr Khoo were scrubbing the band room floor with detergent & washing powder. & OMG After sooo much effort put into scrubbing and mopping the floors, the band room floor looks sooo much cleaner now. We totally scrubbed off like years of dried up saliva. ((: & The banners were removed from the walls and it looks so much brighter now. :D The only thing now is to get air freshener to remove the detergent & washing powder smell.

Stayed back awhile more to do the band board so we ordered KFC. & The band board looks so funny. Haha.

OMG It's just like a few more days to school reopen & homework's not finished!!!

Yesterday was high, retarded and awesome!! :D Went out with my NCO platoon 2 mates but like only 9 others turned up. Asyraf, Azkhairy, Bernard, Elisa, HongYi, Khairi, Khaliun, Lya & Shikin. The purpose was to celebrate the December and January babies but we didn't get a cake so we just played around at ECP.

Met the peeps at Bedok interchange and took a bus to Parkway Parade. Bought some chips and drinks and then it started RAINING! So HongYi & I were like 'HEY. LET'S GO STARBUCKS!' & The guys were like '....' Drank Starbucks while waiting for Azk and Khaliun and omg they were like 2 hours late! Everyone was like 'Let's just open the chips and drinks here' at Starbucks.

Walked over to ECP. Found a place to sit and then played daidi with Bernard, Elisa and Khairi, and Khairi won. Bernard and I gave up because our last card was like super small so it's impossible to win. & Khairi totally tricked Elisa to put out her 2 Spades and so he won. Hahaha. Then Asyraf and HongYi joined so we changed to playing cheat instead. & OMG Asyraf didn't know how to play so he couldn't cheat at all! & Even when he tried cheating, one of us would open his card(s) then he had to take the whole pile. & He ended up with A LOT of cards while Bernard cheated like practically ALL the time and HongYi kept opening his cards and vice versa and basically both of them were playing on their own or something. Khaliun & Shikin joined halfway and helped Elisa because she had a lot of cards, while Khairi and I sat there and stoned because we were the first two to finish. Khairi and Azk went to help Asyraf and when they saw the cards they were like 'F-' Hahaha. & OMG Asyraf was super funny! He put out 5 cards and went '5 fours'. & All of us were like O.O 'WHAT?!' and burst out in laughter. Bernard went to open his cards and we laughed even more. Because he really did put out 4 fours, and another random card. Then another time he went '10 fours' & We were like 'HAHAHAHAHAHA.'

The damn game lasted for like half hour to 45 minutes then Azk gave up and he was like 'DO NOT OPEN ANY MORE CARDS. JUST CONTINUE'. & When HongYi wanted to open Bernard's cards (because he was obviously cheating, again), Azk was like 'NOOOOOOOO' and stopped HongYi. Teehee. Then finally Azk put his last card and went cheering away and we were like 'YESS. FINALLY!'

Khairi had to leave earlier and so the rest of us went to play at the beach and cam-whored. Then it rained again! Waited for the rain to stop and by the time we went back to PP it was like 5.30 already. Elisa & I left to go home while some others stayed on. Talked A LOT to Elisa on the way back (teehee). Then we saw this bag left behind on the MRT! & We were like 'should we take it???' So being nice people, we took the bag, alighted at TP station, and reported it to the MRT person. We went to Popular to get stuff and then went home separately.

Anyway, yesterday was a nice outing with the NCO peeps because I haven't seen them since the NCO course, while the rest met up a lot because of the concerts that were on the days I was away in Japan. Hope there's another outing with proper planning. Haha.

HAPPY BOXING DAY PEOPLE!! HOPE YOU GUYS GOT AWESOME PRESENTS!! :DDDD

So basically I spent Christmas with my family this year. Practically all my relatives and cousins came over to my house to celebrate Christmas but there's not much of the Christmas-y mood because none of us are Christians/Catholics so it seemed like any other family bonding day. Hahaha. So the adults played mahjong (2 tables =.=) while the teens were using the laptops and the toddlers were running around the whole house. Teehee. & Omg my room became like some cyber cafe or something. The guys brought their laptops, borrowed MINE and my bro's and played DOTA together. & They were like screaming at each other, telling who and who to kill another who and who. & I was like o.O Freaks. Hahaha. & I was really bored since my laptop was borrowed to play. Lalala.

NCO Platoon 2 outing tomorrow. Don't know whether I should go because Peisin isn't going and not sure whether Elisa's going either. Blahhhh.

OMG PHILHARMONIC YOUTH WINDS CONCERT WAS GOOD :DDDD

Met Fann at TP to get flowers for the performers and then took MRT to City Hall to meet Emily and LeeWei. & We walked for so damn long before finding a place to have dinner because we wanted to eat at Sakae but Emily said she had no money so we walked to CityLink to look for a place to eat then Emily was like "Where's Sakae?" & All of us were like "WHAT?! It was like so damn close to the MRT". So we walked all the way back to look for Sakae but then went to some soup area to eat. & OMGGGGGG. FANN AND EMILY WERE LIKE TAKING ALL SORTS OF UNGLAMS AND LEEWEI AND I WERE LIKE AHHHHHHH. GO AWAY DAMN IT!!!!!

Walked to Victoria Concert Hall and saw Sir Huang and Emily made me say hi to him and omg it was so damnn freaking awkward. Got the tickets and went to the circles area to sit. I went VCH for so many concerts but it's the first time I went to the circles area to view a concert. Hahaha. & The view is awesome, like you can see the whole band and not only the front people. Hahaha. & I saw some NCO peeps there like Asyraf and Khaliun.

Anyway Philyouth's repertoire was like wow, especially Extreme Makeover and Third Symphony The Tragic. Although Extreme Makeover wasn't like perfect, it was brilliant. I was totally bewildered by their musicality and techniques. & There were quite a few instances that gave me goosebumps. Teehee. & After Extreme Makeover was intermission and wanted to look for the Ms Leong, Marissa and the sirs. & Saw Sir Ng when I left the theatre and then just passed him the flowers. Then went to look for Ms Leong and Marissa, while Fann was telling me about some weird guy. Hahaha.

Then came the 2nd part of the concert. & Third Symphony The Tragic was magnificent. :D The solos were really good and the trombones and euphos sounded like the horns!!! & At first I thought the horns were playing so I went to look at them but they weren't playing at all. Then I realised the trombones and euphos were playing and OMG they played until so high until they sounded like the horns. & Fann and I were like WTH man. & After the repertoire, they encored twice and it was quite high. Then they dropped two big nets of balloons!! :DDDD (Like they hanged two big nets of balloons above the theatre and after the whole performance, they released the nets and dropped all the balloons) OMG & everyone was like WOWWWWWW and it's fascinating to see like hundreds of balloons bopping up and down. Haha.

Went back with Fann and Emily and OMG THEY WERE LIKE SO DAMN FREAKING ANNOYING. Like talking about their HP stuff and then they were singing like crap!! In public!! I was like AHHHHHH.

So basically, the concert was a total blast and it was seriously one of the best concerts I went to. Extreme Makeover and Third Symphony The Tragic totally blew me away. :DDD Lalala the concert just made me more passionate about band. :DDD
Monday, December 21, 2009 at 10:07 PM
OMG Today was a totally tiring and retarded day. Went TP Hub in the morning to collect the photos I developed (and omg some photos were damn awesome!!) and then went Plaza Singapura. Got StarBucks and went back to school to unwrap my tuba, but technically Fann did it because she removed my cling wrap while I sat there and like stone. :D Needa unwrap my valves and put them in soon.

Then went to do chem project with Deb, Fann and Gaya. Met Deb and Gaya, with Fann, at the bus stop outside school and took bus to somewhere. Her mum picked us up and brought us to NTUC to get aluminium foil and snacks and oranges. & OMG Deb, Fann, Gaya and I CAN'T choose oranges for nuts!!! We were like standing there and like 'How do you choose oranges???'. & Then Gaya went to ask this uncle working at NTUC and the uncle was like 'Oh you choose those that are round'. & Upon hearing that, Fann and Gaya like turned high and went like 'Oh no my orange is round you see??' and threw it in the bag. Hahaa. So not potential housewives. Teehee.

Went to Deb's house after that and had lunch at her house. Her mum offered us like some chocolate coated candy and there was this sweet filling inside which none of us knew what it was. But Gaya insisted it was Mentos. So to clear the confusion, Deb asked her mum and she replied "pomegranate". & Then Gaya went 'HOME-MADE GRANITE???' & The 3 of us were like WTH??!!! =.= Anyway, after lunch we rehearsed for like nearly 2 hours??!! Partly because we spent like a while laughing at Fann and Gaya. Because Fann had to like imitate a pig and she had to say 'oink oink' but apparently her oinks were too.. normal. & Gaya went to imitate her oinks, which made all of us laugh like damn a lot. I'm quite sure we spent like a whole hour laughing instead of rehearsing the damn skit. Hahaha. & We got super tired from laughing too much so we just took like 10 min eating snacks.

Did the actual filming thing for another two hours. The first snippet we took was in the late afternoon, then the last snippet we filmed was already night time. & You can actually see the day pass by as we took the videos. Teehee. & There were damn a lot of classic parts in the film. Like THEY CAN BE SEEN NO WHERE ELSE BUT THE CHEM PROJECT. Hahahaha.

Went home at like 8 and took a longgggg mrt ride back home. :D Tired day indeed. Hahaha. But it was time well spent laughing. :D
